Teppanyaki, Lesbians, and Rock & Roll

A best friends birthday is the best excuse to start chatting about something I love.
Friends, the City, and Food.
Ron of Japan in Streeterville downtown Chicago is the perfect intimate setting for a birthday. Great food and great company. Naturally, I struggled a bit with the language barrier that our waitress faced. Who can argue that little Japanese women are not the cutest. However, when she gave the birthday girl the option of "on the rocks or straight up" after ordering a......martini, I should have realized that there might be other misunderstandings coming. Chicken soup, rice, sautéed veggies, shrimp, steak, and dessert, left everyone more than satisfied. The dessert option was ice cream: your choice of Green Tea, Orange Sherbet, Rainbow Sherbet, and....Rock & Roll--"that's like chocolate" says the waitress. Ohhhh, you mean... Rocky Road...
Im sure the two gorgeous lesbians sharing the table with us loved the birthday girls' "girl-guy" talk. Pleasantly surprised, they both left smiling. Cheers to cute Asians who smile graciously when I misunderstand, non judgmental lesbians, and birthdays.
Nice work Ron of Japan, Nice work. Remember to make a reservation :)
